Nightmare cure
Alone in my mind, I sit and stare At the lifeless room and the dark night air Eyes adjust and the darkness moves in sight Images of terror and dreams seep through the night. A stir next to me tells them to go; the ghost behind the door, the demon under the floor, his hand reaches over and touches mine the warmth of his body and mind, soothes this night time and reminds that he will protect me, even in sleep to where the ghosts can't reach and the demons can't creep, Lying with his arm around me In my mind I challenge, I dare For the creatures of hell to come near where they surely wouldn't from fear his arm around me like a shield a loving force field his eyelids flutter and his heavy breaths comfort me In peace I shut my eyes from what lurks in the darkness to sleep
